John Owens

John Owens is one of the two directors of 360e. He set up the business in 2004 with his business partner, Sue Gordon, and over the last five years the duo have gone from strength to strength and built up a business much in demand.

Born in Doncaster, now living in Lincoln with his partner, and with an employment background including working in the commercial IT sector and with Business Link as an advisor, John is well placed to offer businesses advice on IT and ecommerce matters relating to their business.

He gained his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the Open University in 2005, was the first person in the country to be awarded the Enterprise Trainer certification by the Institute of Leadership & management in 2008 and is also PRINCE2 accredited – the industry standard for IT project management.

John puts his experience as an IT and web consultant and trainer to good use, providing consultancy services and running workshops and training sessions across the East Midlands region and further afield. He is also fully qualified as an NVQ Assessor, which adds another “string to the bow”, enabling 360e to work with businesses who wish to assess their staff against this standard.

John says: “The demand for our services has increased considerably. When companies first became aware of ecommerce and saw the potential of utilising the web, there was a lot of jumping in feet first and not really thinking about the basics, like who they were trying to reach and what they wanted their site to achieve.

“At a time when it is tough out there and companies are having to consider how they spend every penny, making sure your website or on-line ecommerce works for you is critical. If it works well, it can make and save you money. We’ve also found that it’s important that businesses don’t make the mistake of cutting back on their staff training – every business needs a well-trained and skilled workforce to survive and prosper”

In his free time, John is a keen traveler having visited Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Egypt, Hong Kong, Thailand and Kenya amongst many other countries, with Estonia next on his list!
